Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to the unicellular freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined according to the principles of OECD 201 (2011). The study was conducted under static conditions with an initial cell density of 4864 cells/mL and over a period of 72 hours. Five concentration levels were tested in a geometrical series with a dilution factor of 2 (nominal): 10.0, 20.0, 40.0, 80.0, 160 mg/L. Three replicates were tested for each test item concentration and six replicates for the control. Environmental conditions were determined to be within the acceptable limits.

The concentrations of the test item were analytically verified by GC/MS at the start and end of the exposure of all test concentrations and the control. The following results were obtained:

 

Growth rate inhibition:

- NOEC: 20.0 mg/L

- LOEC: 40.0 mg/L

- ErC10: 31.4 (27.4-35.6) mg/L

- ErC50: 80.1 (75.1-85.9) mg/L

 

Inhibition of yield:

- NOEC: 20.0 mg/L

- LOEC: 40.0 mg/L

- ErC10: 18.5 (15.8-21.6) mg/L

- ErC50: 35.1 (32.0-38.4) mg/L
