Additional information

In a valid Ames test n-buyl isocyante was negative. The result of a mouse lymphoma ssay was abiguous.

Because n-butyl isocyanate shall be registrated according REACH Article 18 (transported isolated intermediate) and no additional studies (except an Ames test) for genotoxicity are required according REACH Annex VII.

Short description of key information:
in vitro:
Ames test: negative
cytogenetic assay: no data
mammalian cell gene mutation test: positive (ambiguous result)
in vivo:
no data

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Because n-butyl isocyanate was negative in a valid Ames test, a classification is not justified
