Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A 96 h LC50 of 39 mg/l and a NOEC of 27 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the test substance on mortality of Oncorhynchus mykiss based on mean measured concentrations. A NOEC of 16 mg/l has also been determined for sublethal effects (swimming behaviour).

Additional information

A 96 h LC50 value of 39 mg/l and NOEC of 27 mg/l (mean measured concentration) have been determined for the effects of the registered substance on mortality of Oncorhynchus mykiss. Precipitates occurred, in the form of white particles on the water surface, in the higher concentrations tested (30 and 50 mg/l (nominal) test concentrations). There were no effects seen in the absence of precipitates, so it is inconclusive whether this test shows a silanol dose-response or evidence of physical effects. In view of the test media preparation method/exposure regime it is likely that the test organisms, at around the LC50 value concentrations, were exposed predominantly to condensation products of the tested substance.
