Description of key information

A 72 h EC50 value of 9 mg/l and NOEC of 1.1 mg/l, and a 96 h EC50 value of 11 mg/l and NOEC of 2.2 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the test on growth rate of Selenastrum capricornutum (new name: Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) based on mean measured concentrations of the test substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
11 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
2.2 mg/L

Additional information

A 72 h EC50 value of 11 mg/l and NOEC of 1.1 mg/l, and a 96-h EC50 value of 11 mg/l and NOEC of 2.2 mg/l (mean measured concentration) have been determined for the effects of the registered substance on growth rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. In view of the test media preparation method/exposure regime it is likely that the test organisms were exposed predominantly to the tested substance.
