Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 section 7.11 of REACH Annex VII, testing for explosive properties was not conducted. Based on a consideration of the known chemical composition of the substance, there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. According to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) criteria (as described in the Manual of Decisions for implementation of the 6th and 7th amendments, 2006, §13.2.3), and according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria and screening procedure (as listed in appendix 6 to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (5th revised edition, 2009) or in the ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, 2015, §R.7.1.11.1)), no reactive group was identified. As a result, explosive properties are not anticipated, the acceptance procedure for Class 1 explosives shall not apply, and no further testing is required. Moreover, according to CLP and UN criteria, no structural group associated with self-reactive properties is present, therefore subsequent classification shall not apply either.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on a consideration of the known chemical composition of the substance, there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the substance and classification in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 is not required.
