Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The determination of the oxidizing properties of the similar product THPC Urea Amine has been performed according to the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 A21 method (2008) and the GLP.

The test item has been mixed in a 1 to 1 ratio by weight with dried fibrous cellulose and introduced into a pressure vessel. The mixture has been heated in the pressure vessel and the measurement of the time taken for the pressure to rise from 690 to 2070 kPa above atmospheric pressure has been undertaken. The same procedure has been performed with a 1 to 1 mixture of the reference item (i.e. 66% w/w aqueous nitric acid solution) and dried fibrous cellulose to compare the mean pressure rise time and conclude on the oxidizing properties of the test item. The mean pressure rise time of the test item mixture (3,543 s) is higher than mean pressure rise time with the mixture test item / kieselguhr (3,398 s).

Therefore, the test item is not considered to have oxidizing properties in the experimental conditions.

The same conclusion could be derived for the registered reaction product.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
