Description of key information

The determination of the water solubility of the test item was performed according to the EU Method A.6 and the OECD TG 105, using a simplified flask method (GLP). After mixing a total of 5 g of test material in 5 mL of water, a clear solution was obtained (based on visual judgment); the test material was completely dissolved. It was not possible to prepare a saturated solution before reaching a 1:1 ratio, therefore, the water solubility of Tetrakis Hydroxymethyl phosphonium chloride oligomeric reaction products with urea and tetradecylamine might be higher than determined in the present study.
Under the conditions of this study, the water solubility of the substance was determined using a simplified flask method and was found to be > 990g/L at 20 ± 0,5°C and a range of pH 1,4 to 3,8.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
990 g/L
at the temperature of:
21 °C

Additional information

The reaction product has then to be considered as highly soluble in water.
