Description of key information

The 72-hour EC50 on algae (Desmodesmus subcapitatus) was 178 mg/L based on growth rate and the NOEC was 5 mg/L, implying that Bis trifluoromethanesulfonimide Lithium is not harmful to algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
178 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
5 mg/L

Additional information

Two experimental studies (L'Haridon, 2002 and Bouwman, 2008) scored as Klimish 1 were selected as key study. It was in compliance with GLP and according to the OECD 201 guideline.

Both gave same result: not harmful to algae with an EC50 higher than 100 mg/L

For the Risk Assessment the measured value was chosen.
