Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Table 1: Thermographic Data

 Thermal Event  Interpretation  Temperature
     Determination 1    Determination 2
     ºC  K  ºC  K
 Endothermic Doublet Onset of melting   52.4  325.6  52.8  326.0
   End of melting  58.7  331.9  58.7  331.9

Overall melting range : 52.4 to 58.7 ± 0.5 °C (326 to 332 ± 0.5 K)

Due to the complex nature of the melting endotherm, a range is stated in the conclusion.

Conclusions:
The melting temperature range of the test item has been determined to be 52.4 to 58.7 ± 0.5 °C (326 to 332 ± 0.5 K).
Executive summary:

The melting point was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Due to the complex nature of the melting endotherm, a range is stated in the conclusion.

The melting temperature range of the test item has been determined to be 52.4 to 58.7 ± 0.5 °C (326 to 332 ± 0.5 K).

Description of key information

The freezing point of the test item was determined with Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) according to recognized guidelines (OECD Guideline 102 and EU Method A.1) and GLP. No deviations from the guidelines have been observed during the test.

The melting temperature range of the test item has been determined to be 52.4 to 58.7 ± 0.5 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
52.7 °C
