Additional information

For BlankophorTP 1160 (CAS 1200448-68-5) no data on the environmental fate are available. Therefore studies conducted with two similar substances (CAS 16470-24-9 and CAS 16090-02-1) are used for the assessment. A detailed justification for the analogue approach and read-across is provided in the technical dossier (see IUCLID Section 13).

Based on data from the structural analogue CAS 16470-24-9 Blankophor TP 1160 is assessed as not readily biodegradable. The chemical structure of Blankophor TP 1160 and the results of a hydrolysis study with the analogue substance CAS 164070-24-9 shows, that Blankophor 1160 is hydrolytically stable in water. However, in dilute solutions and in presence of sunlight, a half-life for photo-oxidation in natural water was determined to be 313 min for structural related substances.

Based on the log Pow (< -2) Blankophor TP 1160 has no potential for bioaccumulation in biota. The substance shows a tendency for adsorption to solid particles in view of the measured log Koc values (2.45 – 4.0) and therefore, potential to be mainly distributed in the soil and sediment compartments if released into the environment.
