Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The key value for acute toxicity was derived from a study performed under GLP conditions and according to OECD 201. Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata was exposed to a single concentration of the test substance during 72 hours. The 72-h ErC10 and the 72-h ErC50 were determined to be 5.3 mg/L and 49 mg/L respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
49 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
5.3 mg/L

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the substance to the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata was investigated in a 72 growth inhibition study (Vryenhoef, 2014) following the OECD 201 guideline. This study was considered as key study for the PNEC derivation (K-score is 1).

Analyses at 0 and 72 hours showed measured test concentrations to range from 94% to 117% of nominal values and so the results are based on nominal test concentrations only. The 72-h ErC50 and 72 -h ErC10 was set to 49 mg test substance/L and 5.3 mg test substance/L respectively.
