Description of key information

The test substance was determined to be readily biodegradable, having degraded by 92% under test conditions, by the end of a 28-day test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

A ready biodegradability test (OECD test 301F, Manometric Respirometry Test) was perfomed by Huntingdon Life Sciences, UK, to determine the biodegradability characteristics of the test substance. The study was conducted according to OECD and EC test guidelines, and was performed in accordance with GLP.

Mean oxygen consumption in mixtures containing the test substance was equivalent to 10% of the theoretical value after approximately 2 days, 62% after approximately 8 days and 92% at the end of the test on Day 28. A degradation plateau was observed on Day 20.

On this basis, the test substance was considered to be readily biodegradable under the conditions of the test.
