Description of key information

The No-observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) and 48-hour EC50 value for the test substance were both found to be in excess of 88.4 mg/L (nominal concentration 100 mg/L).

An acute Daphnia immobilisation test was performed by Huntingdon Life Sciences, UK, to determine the effect of the test substance on aquatic invertebrates. The study was conducted in accordance with OECD test guideline 202 and EC test guideline C2, and in compliance with GLP.

The test was performed at a nominal limit concentration of 100 mg/L; the measured concentration, determined by HPLC-MS, at the end of the 48 -hour test period was determined to be 88.4 mg/L.

No Daphnia were found to have been immobilised at the end of the test period. The test substance was not found to be toxic to Daphnia Magna when dissolved in water at a measured concentration of 88.4 mg/L (nominal concentration 100 mg/L). On this basis, neither the 48-hour EC50nor the no-observed effect concentration (NOEC) of the test substance could be identified for immobilisation of Daphnia Magna.
