Description of key information

not biodegradable (< 1% biodegradation, CO2-evolution test, OECD 301B)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In order to determine the ready biodegradability of the test substance a CO2-evolution test conducted by Muckle (2014). The study was conducted according to GLP and followed OECD guideline 301B. Activated sludge as inoculum was exposed for 28 days. A concentration of nominally 20 mg organic carbon/L corresponding to 28.3 mg of the test substance was used. No degradation could be observed after 28 days. Degradation behaviour of positive control and toxicity control was normal. Abiotic degradation was not observed. Thus, the test substance cannot be considered as biodegradable.
