Description of key information

EC50(growth rate) (72h) > 100.2 mg/L (nominal) (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, OECD 201);
NOEC(growth rate) (72h) => 100.2 mg/L (nominal) (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, OECD 201);
no adverse effects up to the limit of the water solubility

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study on the toxicity of the test substance towards aquatic algae was conducted by Micevska (2013). The study was conducted according to GLP and followed OECD guideline 201. Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed for 72 hours in a static test system. Test concentrations were prepared without a solvent and ranged from 6.3 to 100.2 mg/L, thus above the limit of water solubility. Test concentrations were filtered through a 3 µm glass fiber filter. Analytical measurements of the test concentrations were performed. Concentrations were found to be in the range of the water solubility. No adverse effects were observed during the test. Thus, there are no effects up to the limit of the water solubility and the 72-hour EC50 and NOEC for growth rate were determined to be >100.2 and 100.2 mg/L, respectively, based on nominal concentrations.
