key study
Study period:
From January the 29th to February the 07th, 2014
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
Version / remarks:
adopted July 27, 1995
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7300 (Density / Relative Density / Bulk Density)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
pycnometer method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test Item was used in its initial form.
Dynamic viscosity of test material:
APPARATUS
Multipycnometer density tester: Quantachrome
Balance: Mettler-Toledo AB54-S

PERFORMANCE OF THE TEST
The test item was filled into the empty, clean sample cell and the weight was measured. The volume of sample was determined automatically by the density tester. The density was calculated. Three parallel tests were performed. The test was performed at a temperature of 20 ± 1 °C.
Type:
relative density
Density:
1.357
Temp.:
20 °C

The measured density of test item was 1357.3 ± 9.36 kg/m3.

The relative density of test item (D420) is 1.357.

Conclusions:
Relative density: 1.357 at 20 °C
Executive summary:

Relative density was determined by means of a pycnometer, as per recommendations of OECD 109. Density was calculated from the difference in weight between the full and empty pycnometer and its volume.

Conclusion

The relative density of test item (D420) is 1.357.
