Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
None
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Guideline followed
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
None
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 550 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

No auto-ignition was observed until 550 °C.

Conclusions:
The auto ignition temperature of the test substance could not be determined as no auto ignition occurred until 550 °C.
Executive summary:

The auto ignition temperature of the test substance was investigated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.15. To achieve this, a sample of the test substance was placed in an oven. The temperature of the oven and the sample were continuously recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to approximately 550 °C at a rate of about 3- 5 °C/min. Then the test substance is given drop by drop with pipette by cylinder hole into Erlenmeyer flask. The lowest temperature at which the test substance ignites is considered to be the auto ignition temperature of the test substance. However, no auto-ignition was observed until 550 °C.

Description of key information

The auto-ignition temperature of the test substance could not be determined as no auto-ignition occurred until 550 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
550 °C
