Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Findings:

Safety Pre-Test:

A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed no signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test:

The test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. No ignition occurred within two minutes.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
FAT 93460/D should be considered as not highly flammable.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to evaluate the flammability of the test substance according to EU Method A.10. In the prelimnary screening test, the substance does not ignite and propagate combustion along 200 mm of the powader train within the 2 minutes test period when subjected to the flame of a teclu burner. Hence, FAT 93460/D should be considered as not highly flammable.

Description of key information

A study was conducted to evaluate the flammability of the test substance according to EU Method A.10. In the prelimnary screening test, the substance does not ignite and propagate combustion along 200 mm of the powader train within the 2 minutes test period when subjected to the flame of a teclu burner. Hence,a FAT 93460/D should be considered as not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

In the flammability study, the test substance did not ignite throughout the course of the test. Hence, the test substance does not warrant the classification as per the CLP criteria (1272/2008).
