Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2012-06-12
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Version / remarks:
30 May 2008
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Version / remarks:
adopted 27th July 1995
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
method according to Siwoloboff
Boiling pt.:
108 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa
Decomposition:
no

To verify that the determined boiling temperature is no decomposition, a test tube with test item was observed at a constant temperature ca. 5 K above the determined boiling temperature. After app. 1 h the test item was examined visually regarding change of colour or residues. The appearance of the test item did not change. A slight decrease of volume was observed. The determined temperature was defined as boiling temperature.

Conclusions:
Boiling point of TFMEA is reported to be 108°C at 1013 hPa.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of TFMEA is reported to be 108°C at 1013 hPa (determined according to OECD Guideline 103, adopted 27th July 1995, and EU Method A.2, May 2008, Siwoloboff method).
