Interpretation of results (migrated information):
negative with and without

Sodium 4-aminonaphthalene-1-sulphonate failed to induce mutation in the Salmonella typhimurium tester strains TA1535, TA1537, TA1538, TA98,or TA100 with and without male rat Aroclor S9 mix and hence is not likely to classify as a gene mutant in vitro.
Executive summary:

Gene mutation toxicity study was performed for sodium 4-aminonaphthalene-1-sulphonate using the Salmonella typhimurium tester strains TA1535, TA1537, TA1538, TA98 and TA100 with and without male rat Aroclor S9 mix in the plate incorporation assay. The read across chemical was dosed at dose value from 5 - 5000 µg/plate. Concurrent vehicle control and appropriate positive controls were also incorporated on the study.
