Hydrolysis

The read across substance Direct Red 83:1has been determined to undergo less than 10% hydrolysis in pH 4, 7 and 9 buffer solutions after 5 days at 50.0 ± 0.5 °C.  The Half-life (t1/2) is considered to be greater than 1 year, and therefore the  test substance was considered  hydrolytically stable.

 

Biodegradation

Biodegradation in water: screening test

The read across substance Kayarus Supra Rubine BLN attained only 6% degradation with 28 days, therefore the test substance is considered to be as not readily biodegradable.

 

Transport and distribution

Adsorption / desorption

A study on adsorption/desorption does not to e conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient (log Kow = -2.14 at 20 °C) and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter.
