Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Description of key information

acute oral toxicity: LD50 > 6100 mg/kg bw for rat
acute inhalative toxicity: LC50 = 71 mg/L air (guideline study)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
discriminating dose
Value:
6 100 mg/kg bw

Acute toxicity: via inhalation route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Value:
71 mg/m³ air

Additional information

A single oral application per gavage of 5 ml/kg bw (ca. 6100 mg/kg bw) of substance on 5 male and 5 female rats no deaths occured. The LD50 is therefore > 6100 mg/kg bw for rats.

In a guideline study according OECD 403 for male rats a LC50 = 110 mg/m³ air and for female rats a LC50 = 71 mg/m³ air was found.

For acute dermal toxicty no data were found.

Justification for classification or non-classification

For the acute oral toxicity a classification is not justified as a result of the LD50 > 6100 mg/kg bw

For the acute inhalation toxicity T+, R26 is justified as a result of the LC50 = 113 mg/m³ air

In addition, respiration irritational effects were reported. Therefore R 37 is applicable
