Conclusion on classification

Three acute endpoints for three different trophic levels are available. The lowest ErC50 is found for algae and is 5.4 mg/L. Two chronic endpoints for algae and Daphnia, the most sensitive species are available, The lowest EC10 is 1.7 mg/L.

From a hydrolysis study and a ready biodegradability study it can be concluded that 2,4 -pentanedione peroxide is not persistent.

2,4 -pentanedione peroxide has a low log Kow (log kow < 3).

Under Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 (2nd ATP to CLP) neither acute nor chronic (based on acute and/or chronic data) environmental classification is needed.
