Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
other justification
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is an organic substance or mixture containing chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

Non explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The screening evaluation failed to evidence any reason of concern, on the basis of the thermal behaviour investigation.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008), 2.1.4.2. Screening procedure section, the screening procedure is aimed at identifying the presence of such reactive groups and the potential for rapid energy release. If the screening procedure identifies the substance or mixture to be a potential explosive, the acceptance procedure (section 10.3 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria) has to be performed.

Screening procedure failed to evidence any reason for concern, on the basis of the thermal behaviour.

In conclusion, the substance can be considered non explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008).
