Description of key information

Vapour pressure (phenyl silsesquioxanes): 0.23 Pa at 20°C, 0.42 Pa at 25°C (EU Method A.4)

Vapour pressure (constituents of phenyl silsesquioxanes): 9.3E-23 to 0.096 Pa at 25°C (QSAR)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.42 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Measured vapour pressures of 0.23 Pa and 0.42 Pa at 20°C and 25°C respectively were determined for phenyl silsesquioxanes as a whole substance using the isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method in accordance with EU Method A.4 and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable. Phenyl silsesquioxanes is a multiconstituent substance. Measured vapour pressure for the whole substance is preferred for the purpose of human health exposure assessment while for the purposes of environmental hazard and fate assessment; vapour pressures of the constituents have been predicted using a validated QSAR estimation method. Vapour pressures in the range 9.3E-23 Pa to 0.096 Pa were estimated for the constituents of phenyl silsesquioxanes.
