Description of key information

Calcium tartrate is a white to grey; amber to pale brown powder. It is odourless. Melting point of Calcium tartrate was tested following OECD Guideline 102. As a result of this test the melting point of the test item could not be determined as a decomposition was observed at a temperature of 165.2 ± 0.3 °C. Relative density at 20°C is 1.878. The vapour pressure of the test item extrapolated at 25 °C is P = 2.8 x 10-5 Pa. The water solubility at pH 7 is 412 mg/L at 20°C. The self ignition temperature of the test item was situated between 338.9 and 340.7 °C (corrected values). According to EU method A.10, the test item was not considered to be highly flammable under our experimental conditions.
