Description of key information

According to Reach regulation Annex VII, column 2, a study does not need to be conducted.
Available studies for short toxicity to aqautic invertebrates are not reliable. The study of Bayer AG, 1990 has significant methodological deficiencies. The total exposure duration of 24 h for daphnia magna is too short.
However, a long-term study of toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is available. The long-term toxicity of 1,5 -naphthylenediamine was determined according to the OECD Guideline 202, part 2 (Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test and Reproduction Test Part 2, 1984 and 1993) (ECT Oekotoxikologie GmbH, 1995). The following results, based on nominal concentrations were obtained: 21d-NOEC (Reproduction) of 0.015 mg/L and
21d-LOEC (Reproduktion) of 0.0474 mg/L.
