Type of information:
other: Expert statement
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
April 01, 2016 - May 11, 2016
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Expert statement following no specific guideline and without detailed description of results.
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Expert statement
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch n°: 4M408
- Analytical purity: 98.7%
Sample tested:
other: not applicable
Parameter:
other: not applicable
Remarks on result:
not measured/tested
Remarks:
On the basis of this exercise, the material should be considered as not oxidising and should not be subjected to experimental testing. The material meets all criteria for exemption from testing and has a structure not at all conducive with that required to exhibit oxidising tendencies.

Examining the structural formula, the following observations can be made:

- The molecule does not contain any functional groups such as organic nitro compounds, N-halogen compounds (N-X), oxohalogen compounds or interhalogen compounds

- The proportion of electronegative atoms in the molecule is low (2 oxygen atoms out of an overall atom count of 26). Both oxygen atoms are bound to carbon atoms.

- The electronegative atoms are not bound to one another, nor to any other electronegative elements.

Assessment against the above criteria indicates strongly that the molecule will not have oxidising properties.

In every respect of the oxidising liquids exemption procedure, the substance does not show any evidence of possessing oxidising properties.

On the basis of this exercise, the material should be considered as not oxidising and should not be subjected to experimental testing. The material meets all criteria for exemption from testing and has a structure not at all conducive with that required to exhibit oxidising tendencies.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The substance is concluded not to have oxidising properties. The substance meets all criteria for exemption from testing and has a structure not at all conducive with that required to exhibit oxidising tendencies.
