Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
April 01, 2016 - May 11, 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
method according to Siwoloboff
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch n°: 4M408
- Analytical purity: 98.7%
Key result
Boiling pt.:
238.2 °C
Atm. press.:
102.7 kPa
Remarks on result:
other:
Remarks:
the sample had a pale yellow tinge after the test.

The boiling temperature of the test item was determined as the average boiling temperature obtained from Experiment 1 (using 0.42 g of test sample) and Experiment 2 (using 0.50 g of test sample) and equals 238.2°C.

The result was corrected due to barometric pressure and the boiling temperature is reported as 237.5°C.

Conclusions:
The boiling temperature of 3,6-dioxaoctamethylenediamine was determined at 237.5°C by using the Siwoloboff method.

Description of key information

The boiling temperature of 3,6-dioxaoctamethylenediamine was determined at 237.5°C by using the Siwoloboff method.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
273.5 °C
