Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The registered substance is hydrolytically stable and not readily biodegradable. Therefore, in the absence of other biodegradation studies, the registered substance can be considered potentially Persistent (P) or very Persistent (vP) in the environment. However, with a log Kow lower than 4.5 (= 1.95), the registered substance does not meet the criterion for bioaccumulation (B). For the toxicity criterion (T), the EC10 value on algae is well greater than 0.01 mg/L (= 83.54 mg/L) but no other chronic data is available. However, in acute conditions, all E(L)C50 values on the three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae) are > 100 mg/L. In addition, the substance is not classified as carcinogenic, germ cell mutagenic or toxic for reproduction, and there is no other evidence of chronic toxicity according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008. Therefore, the registered substance is definitively not toxic (T).
