Additional information

Octane-1 -thiol is not expected to be readily biodegradable, based on read across from tert-dodecanethiol (Jenkins 1990). A lack of appropriate functional groups indicates that octane-1 -thiol is not expected to hydrolyse in the atmosphere. The calculated Henry's Law constant indicates that octane-1 -thiol is expected to volatilise rapidly from water. The log Koc of 3.6 determined by Mollandin in 2010 on tert-dodecanethiol used in a read across approach indicates that octane-1 -thiol will adsorb strongly to soils and sediments. The bioconcentration data will be read across from tert-dodecanethiol when testing is complete.
