B Cell IC50 = 1x10E-5 mol/L
Inhibitory Pattern: D

T Cell
Inhibitory Pattern: A

Pattern A = chemical showed no inhibition within the concentration range assayed.

Pattern D = inhibition occurred suddenly at certain concentrations, probably by toxicity.

Pattern A was judged negative. Pattern D was judged positive.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Positive in B cell
Negative in T cell
Executive summary:

A lymphocyte mitogenesis test was conducted with o-phenylenediamine. The growth inhibitory effect of oPDA on mouse splenic lymphocytic mitogenesis was assessed using lipopolysacchardie and concanavalin A as the specific mitogen for B cells and T cells. The DNA content of grown cells was determined by the novel ethidium bromide-fluorophotometry method, with 96-well microplates. The test substance showed inhibition suddenly at certain concentrations in B cell (probably by toxicity), but showed no inhibition in T cell.
