Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
1997-06-25 - 1997-07-03
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
determination of solubility by visual observation, development of analytical method not possible
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Water solubility was determined by visual observation.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
other: visual observation
Water solubility:
0.92 mg/L
Temp.:
19.5 °C
pH:
6.8
Details on results:
0,92 mg/L at 19,5 °C (+/- 0,5 °C)

After stirring for 8 days, undissolved test substance were observed in both samples. Therefore, the water solubility of the test substance was determined to be < 9.2x10-4 g/L at 19.5 ± 0.5 °C, by means of visual observations.

Description of key information

<0.92 mg/L at 19.5 ± 0.5 °C, pH = 6.8

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The water solubility of the substance fatty acids, C16-18 (even numbered) and C18-unsatd., branched and linear, di- and triesters with trimethylolpropane (former CAS 85005 -23 -8) was determined according to OECD guideline 105 / EU method A.6 using the preliminary test (visual observation).
