Guideline:

EC Method A.1

No melting point could be observed after four determinations, twice in an open and twice in a closed crucible. A small endothermic effect could be observed between 60 and 80 °C which could not be reproduced by a second heating phase. The residues in the crucible were white and powdery. This leads to the assumption that the test item did not actually melt. Therefore an additional determination of the melting point by capillary method was performed.
