Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance was tested for ready biodegradation in a modified Sturm test according to OECD 301 B guidelines. Tests were run in duplicates using activated sludge freshly obtained from a sewage treatment plant. The tests were run for 28 days and CO2 evolutions were measured and compared with the theoretical CO2 content to determine relative degradation. In one of the test samples, the degradation calculated after 28 days was 18%; in the other test sample, it was 29%. Since none of the test samples met the study criterion of at least 60% degradation within a 10 -day window, the substance is considered not 'readily' biodegradable. However, the results do suggest that the substance is inherently biodegradable.
