Additional information

The assessment of biodegradation of the multi-constituent substance is performed by regarding the biodegradation rates of the single substances. Only one component is measured to be readily biodegradable ( 2 -(2 -aminoethylamino)ethanol, CAS 111-41-1). For CAS 111-40-0, 2,2-Diaminodiethylamine, CAS 112-24-3, Triethylenetetramine and CAS 140-31-8, N-Aminoethylpiperazine measured data are available whereas for CAS 103-76 -4, 1 -Piperazineethanol only QSAR-Data on ready biodegradability are available. Nevertheless, all available data clearly indicate that these substances are not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. For the polymers, which are also part of the multi-constituent substance, no data are available and no QSAR calculation can be performed. Due to their molecular structure as polymers, no ready biodegradation is assumed.

Overall it can be stated, that due to the given facts, ready biodegradability cannot be assumed for this multi-constituent substance. This statement is supported by a test similiar to OECD guideline 302B, performed with industrial activated sludge on the mixture (BASF 1982). After 20 days of exposure a TOC removal of 30-40% was estimated.
