First-aid measures

Take care of your own personal safety.

Move out of dangerous area.

Keep warm, position comfortably, and cover well.

Do not leave the victim unattended.

See that there is fresh air.

Obtain medical attention.

Wash off affected area immediately with plenty of water.

Consult a physician in case of eye irritation.

Immediately wash with soap and water and rinse thoroughly.  If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

With eye held open, thoroughly rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes.

Call a physician immediately.

Rinse mouth.

Do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice immediately.

After accidental absorption in the body, the pathology and clinical findings are dependent on the kinetics of the noxious substance.

Continue with first aid measures.

Depending on the pathology and clinical findings, patient monitoring and symptomatic treatment are necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: CO2, dry powder, foam, water spray

In case of fire cool endangered containers with water.

Hazardous fumes in fires, specific to the product:

carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide

Under certain fire conditions, traces of other toxic products may occur.

In case of fire: wear a self contained respiratory apparatus

As in any fire, wear self-contained positive-pressure breathing apparatus, (MSHA/NIOSH approved or equivalent) and full protection.

Accidental release measures

Use personal protective equipment.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.

Do not allow to be introduced into sewage water, soil,  waterbodies, ground water, surface waters. Obey relevant local, state, provincial and federal laws and regulations.  Do not contaminate any lakes, streams, rivers, groundwater and surface water.

Use mechanical handling equipment.

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

If possible, use material transfer/filling, metering and blending plants that are closed, or provide for local suction devices.

General rules of fire prevention should be observed.

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Observe prohibition against storing together!

Combustible / non-combustible liquids and solids not assigned to other storage classes.

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

In case of dusts/vapours/aerosols being formed or if the limit values like TLV are exceeded:

No protective glove type has been specified for use with this product. The glove listed is only a preliminary recommendation: nitrile rubber (Camatril Velours) 0,4 mm, breakthrough time > 30 min

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields, face protection

Body protection: A safety shower and eye wash fountain should be readily available.

Remove immediately all contaminated clothing.

Use disposable clothing if appropriate.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Stability and reactivity

Under normal conditions: stable.

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Reacts violently with amines (exothermic).

Exothermic reaction with acids, alkalis, powerful oxidants, alcohols.

Reacts with water, whereby carbon dioxide is produced; pressure may build up in closed containers (danger of bursting).

Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight.

Substances to avoid: amines, acids, alkalis, strong oxidants, alcohols

Decomposition products on thermal decomposition: isocyanate-containing vapours, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide (CO2), smoke

Disposal considerations

With respect to local regulations, e.g. dispose of to suitable waste incineration plant.

No waste key number as per the European Waste Types List can be assigned to this product, since such classification is based on the (as yet undetermined) use to which the product is put by the consumer.

The waste key number must be determined as per the European Waste Types List (decision on EU Waste Types List 2000/532/EC) in cooperation with the disposal firm / producing firm / official authority.

Waste must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations.

Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
