Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Justification for type of information:
Guideline method conducted in a reliable laboratory within the spirit of GLP, but without CLP certification.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 6.2
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7.07
Details on results:
The test substance peaks showed retention times of 54.28, 63.04 and 65.38 min with very low standard deviations of < 0.20 min. The determination was precise. The calculation of the log POW of the test substance peaks is not possible, because the peaks eluted outside the isocratic part of the HPLC program. Because the retention times of the test substance peaks are higher than the retention time of DDT (32.9 minutes) the log POW of the test substance is stated as > 6.2 (log POW of DDT).

Conclusions:
The log Pow for the test substance is > 6.22, in a study using the OECD 117 (HPLC) method. The test material eluted after the highest elution standard, DDT, so the log Pow is concluded to be higher than the value associated with this standard.

Description of key information

Log Kow is greater than 6.2.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
6.2
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

An experimental study was undertaken on ZEF 6099/100 using the OECD 117 (HPCL) method, with a conclusion that the log Kow is greater than 6.2. The conclusion of a high partition coefficient is supported by the predicted value by EPI-Suite of log Kow of 16.52 for the principal component.
