Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With regard to aquatic toxicity there are acute toxicity data available for invertebrates and algae.

Invertebrates:

For this endpoint one test is available. In this acute immobilization test with Daphnia magna (STRAUS), the effects of the limit concentration of 100 mg/L of the test item were determined according to OECD 202 (2004). The study was conducted under static conditions over a period of 48 hours in a closed system (sealed glass flasks) without headspace. The EC10, EC50 and EC100 values (based on the nominal concentration of the test item, as measured concentrations ranged less than 20%) were all greater than 100 mg/L both after 24 and 48 hours.

Algae:

For this endpoint one test is available. In this algae growth inhibition test with unicellular freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, the effects of the test item were determined according to OECD 201 (2011). Five test solutions were tested in the definitive test in a geometrical series with a dilution factor of 2: 25.0 - 50.0 - 100 - 200 - 400 mg/L. Three replicates were tested for each test item concentration and six replicates for the control. The environmental conditions were within the acceptable limits. In this study, the test item was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata after 72 hours with the following effect values (based on nominal test item concentrations

, as measured concentrations ranged less than 20%): the EC50-value for inhibition of growth rate (ErC50) after 72 hours was 238 (95% CI: 183 - 326) mg/L, the EC10 -value for inhibition of growth rate (ErC10) after 72 hours was 55.7 (95% CI: 50.0 - 119) mg/L and the NOEC-value of growth rate after 72 hours was 50.0 mg/L.
