Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition co-efficient (log KOW) of hexachlorocyclopentadiene is 5.04.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
5.04

Additional information

A literature search of available information for the water solubility of Hexachlorocyclopentadiene identified a number of experimental values. The only reference that gives detailed experimental information is that from Wolfe et al. (1982) and this value is used in most recent reviews of the environmental fate of hexachlorocyclopentadiene. Therefore this value was used for the registration dossier. The partition co-efficient (log Kow) of Hexachlorocyclopentadiene is 5.04.
