Conclusion on classification

Fish, invertebrate and algae toxicity studies are available with read across substances mono- and di- C12 PSE, K+ and/or mono- and di- C12-18 PSE, Na+. Daphnia magna is identified as the most sensitive organism with 48 h EL50 value higher than 1 mg/L (i.e., 48 hEL50 =85 mg/L, which corresponds to 85% saturated solution prepared at a loading dose of 100 mg/L; see Section 7.1.2). However, in the absence of chronic toxicity data and considering that the substance is not readily biodegradable; the test substance qualifies for a Chronic Category 3 classification according to the CLP (EC 1271/2008) criteria.
