One experimental study is available investigating the toxicity of the target substance Fatty acids, C8-10 (even numbered), diesters with neopentyl glycol and di- and triesters with trimethylolpropane to aquatic algae (BMG Engineering AG, 2006). The study was performed according to OECD 201 (non-GLP) with the freshwater algae Desmodesmus subspicatus. A limit test with a loading rate of 100 mg/L was conducted under static conditions. No inhibition of growth was recorded after 72 h up to the limit of water solubility resulting in an EL50 of > 100 mg/L and an EL0 ≥ 100 mg/L.
