Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

A prediction concerning oxidizing properties of the C20-24 sodium sulfonate (Benzenesulfonic acid, mono-C20-24 (even)-sec-alkyl derivs., para-, sodium salts was performed using a procedure compatible with EU Method A.21 (Tremain, 2015a). The structure of the test item was assessed for chemical groups that would imply oxidizing properties. Examples of such groups are nitrates, metal oxides, hypofluorites, difluoroaminopolynitroaryls, perchlorates, bromates and iodites. Since the test substance possesses none of the structural alerts within its chemical structure, no oxidizing properties are expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance possesses no chemical groups that imply oxidizing properties. Therefore, the substance is classified as non oxidizing in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
