Description of key information

Carbon dioxide evolution test (OECD guideline 301 B, EU method C.4-C): Not readily biodegradable, but 48.8 % biodegradation within 28 days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
not biodegradable

Additional information

The carbon dioxide evolution from dioctyl fumarate reached a maximum of 48.8 % after 28 days of incubation. According to the results of this study, dioctylfumarate can not be classified as readily biodegradable.
