Description of key information

The results of the short-term toxicity test to aquatic invertebrates (Fenzl, 2005) show no adverse effects on the mobility of Daphnia up to the solubility limit of the test substance. Similarly, the QSAR predicted (ECOSAR v1.11) EC50 and NOEC values for algal growth inhibition by dioctylfumarate are > 1.19 mg/L and ≥ 1.19 mg/L, respectively, i.e. more than the solubility limit.

Therefore aquatic short-term toxicity is considered as not likely to occur.

The Fish, Early-Life Stage Toxicity Test shows a NOEC of 0.30 mg/L, and a LOEC of 0.86 mg/L (reduced hatching rate).
