Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Additional information:

In accordance with REACH Annex VII column 2 adaptation, studies on skin sensitisation do not need to be conducted as members of the C4 high 1,3-butadiene category (CAS numbers; 68476-52-8, 68477-42-9, 68955-28-2, 87741-01-3, 92045-23-3) are flammable gases at room temperature. No studies have been conducted on skin sensitisation with the category members but there are no indications from repeat dose studies that any of these gases cause skin sensitisation and would therefore warrant classification under Dir 1999/45/EC or GHS/CLP.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
There are no data on skin sensitisation and no indications that members of the C4 high 1,3-butadiene category are skin sensitizers. The category members are flammable gases at room temperature and therefore studies on skin sensitisation are waived.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Additional information:

No studies have been conducted on respiratory sensitisation with the members of the C4 high 1,3-butadiene category (CAS numbers; 68476-52-8, 68477-42-9, 68955-28-2, 87741-01-3, 92045-23-3) but there are no data to indicate that any of these gases cause respiratory sensitisation.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
No studies have been conducted but there are no indications that members of the C4 high 1,3-butadiene category are respiratory sensitizers.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There is no indication that streams within the C4 high 1,3-butadiene category cause skin or respiratory sensitisation and therefore, according to the EU and GHS/CLP criteria, the category members do not require classification for sensitisation properties.
