Conclusion on classification

The lowest LC50/EC50 obtained for 2,2'-isopropylidenebis(p-phenyleneoxy)diethanol for any of the three trophic levels considered under CLP regulation EC 1272/2008, was 72h-EC50 = 17.9 mg/L for algae. The Lowest EC10 obtained for chronic toxicity was 0.8 mg/L for algae. The substance is not readily biodegradable. Environmental classification according to CLP regulation is therefore H411: toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
