Sampling and analysis

Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
The stability of test substance was tested by GC analysis before test begin. The concentration of the stock solution was analysed at test begin and test end.

Details on results:
The test substance concentration was found to be not stable over the test period (test substance concentration decreased >20-50%). Therefore a geometric mean of the concentration of stock solution was determined. The test concentrations were calculated from the stock solution.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
Tested concentrations: 1.0 mg/L and 2.0 mg/L. After 24 h 30% of the daphnids were immobilized in the test concentration of 1.0 mg/L, and 100 % were immobilized with a test concentration of 2.0 mg/L. The sensitivity of the daphnid is in the normal range and the test is considered to be valid.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
The EC50 value after 48 h exposure is 0.11 mg/L. After exposure for 48 h, the highest concentration at which no immobilization (~ 10 %) occurred was, 0.065 mg/L. After exposure for 48 h, the lowest concentration at which 100 % immobilization occurred was, > 0.12 mg/L (the highest concentrations are based on the substance). The highest achieved concentration under the test coditions is 0.12 mg/L (geometric mean). All concentrations are based on the substance.
