34 °C

Additional information

The boiling point of ethanethiol was determined to be 34 ± 1°C (307 ± 1 K) at 100.9 kPa. Harlan (2012) is a GLP-compliant, boiling point study following OECD guideline 103. The study, available as an unpublished report, is considered Klimisch 1, reliable without restrictions, and suitable for use for this endpoint.

This is supported by a boiling point of 35°C, taken from the WHO IPCS International Chemical Safety Cards (ICSC 0470, 2004). No information on the primary source of these data or the methods used is available. However, this information is taken from an internationally peer-reviewed chemical safety card and can be considered reliable and suitable for use as a supporting study for this endpoint. Lide (2009) gives a boiling point value of 35.1˚C.
