Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No data is available for the target substance therefore the assessment of the toxicity potential of the substance to aquatic invertebrates was done by the use of studies on Similar substances. Justification for Read Across is given in Section 13 of IUCLID.

Similar Substance 01 was the substance tested in the key study [Huntsman Textile Effects (Germany) GmbH, 1992] used for the toxicity assessment, perfomed according to the OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2 following GLP requirements. The daphnids were exposed to five concentrations of the test material ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 ppm for 48 hrs under static conditions. The immobilisation of daphnids was assessed after 24 and 48 hrs and the EC50 at 48 h was determined to be 0.17 ppm (measured).

Other studies available for other analogue substances (with a different salification) suggest an LC50 > 1 ppm and LC50 = 1.1 ppm. This study is considered to be the most rapresentative for the substance in comparison with the other conducted studies since it is performed according to established guidelines, under GLP conditions and by using a test material with a higher purity. Furthermore, the measurement of the test concentrations and the use of the measured concentrations for the determination of the effect level also suggest that the chosen study is the most representative.
